Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack testified before three congressional committees this past week. Vilsack said climate smart programs within the Inflation Reduction Act can make up for a loss in baseline funding. “Utilization of those resources can compliment and supplement what you have to do and can do within the farm bill,” said Vilsack. USDA is also working toward greater food security. Vilsack said there has been a focus on more fertilizer production projects with 21 projects being funded in the first round of this program.
