For the first time in several months, retail fertilizer prices are softening. DTN reporter Russ Quinn says half of the fertilizers were down slightly. “The last time we had multiple fertilizers lower was December 2018.” While slightly lower than last month, year-over-year fertilizer prices are higher. “We continue to be anywhere up to 20 percent higher,” says Quinn. “That’s because it didn’t have recalibration we would see in the mid-summer, when prices would draw back down.” DAP has an average price of $511 per ton, MAP at $535 per ton, urea is at $404 per ton and UAN28 is at $270 per ton. Potash, 10-34-0, anhydrous and UAN32 are all slightly higher compared to one month ago.
