The grains markets face an uphill battle going into 2025. However, University of Minnesota Grain Market Economist Ed Usset sees some upside in the corn and wheat markets. “The supply and demand situation is interesting. I think the corn market and even the wheat market, if you take a worldwide view of wheat, I can see friendly things developing.” Soybean markets are a different story. “The problem is there are three horses in this deal, corn, soybeans, and wheat, and one of those horses is a real laggard, and that’s the soybean market. Corn and wheat are just struggling to find their footing to make a strong surge upward with the soybean market the way it is.”
