Herbicide resistance continues to be a hot topic this offseason, especially with the loss of dicamba from the toolbox. “I’m recommending that we lengthen our rotation away from dry beans more often so that we can manage the weeds in the other crops in the rotation where we have more effective herbicides,” said NDSU Extension Cropping Systems Specialist Jeff Stachler. “It doesn’t look like we’re going to have dicamba pre- or post-emergence for soybeans so the utility of the Enlist system and putting Liberty or glufosinate plus Enlist One in the first post application instead of the last one is critical.”
