After a long year with severe drought conditions, Brazil is finally entering its wet season. Nutrien Ag Solutions Senior Science Fellow Eric Snodgrass says Brazil’s forecast is looking good for planting. “We are expecting more rain early in the growing season for central and western Brazil, which are their big producing areas,” said Snodgrass. “I think the big question will be by the time we get into the first week of November, are they 70 percent done with planting or 90 percent done with planting? All that will be determined by the rains that are coming.” Portions of Brazil have already received moisture, which should help with planting. “Overall, I’d say that the forecast is relatively favorable for Brazil in the near term for the rest of October and November.”
