‘A Direct Attack’

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Vice President of Government Affairs Ethan Lane describes USDA’s proposed plan to increase enforcement of the Packers and Stockyards Act as “a direct attack” on the profitability of cattle producers. Rather than any differentiation in the marketplace, Lane said these standards favor one low price for cattle regardless of quality.
