The EPA released its draft formaldehyde risk evaluation this month. The report claims that formaldehyde poses an “unreasonable risk to human health.” American Feed Industry Association Director of Feed Manufacturing and Regulatory Affairs Gary Huddleston argues that formaldehyde is a vital feed additive for controlling pathogens and is already under strict safety standards in feed mills. The AFIA is part of a coalition opposed to the latest risk assessment.
