U.S. potato exports remained strong through 2023, according to the National Potato Council’s annual report. From July 2022 through June 2023 over 2.2 billion dollars in potatoes and 4.78 billion dollars in potato products were exported, but according to Council president Bob Mattive there is still room to grow. “Based upon some conservative yet achievable expansion in foreign market access and market maturity, we found that the U.S. gross domestic product could increase by another 1 billion dollars with more than 5,000 domestic jobs that would be supported.”
