NDSU Extension Research Entomologist Mark Boetel says it is important to stay up to date on rules for the crop protection products in the toolbox for the 2024 growing season. A couple of products containing chlorpyrifos can be used in North Dakota. Work is underway to register products in Minnesota. “It’s really kind of a stay-tuned situation in Minnesota,” said Boetel. The use of chlorpyrifos would be especially important to root maggot control. Only new products can be used. No products with old labels may be applied to crops in 2024.
