A national survey of 2,000 register voters found bipartisan support for the U.S. sugar industry. Ninety-four percent of the voters surveyed by Morning Consult recognize the role farmers have in the economy and 86 percent support the sugar policy in the farm bill. Agriculture and the farming industry had the highest support from respondents of U.S. industries, including technology, manufacturing and tourism. Eighty percent of the voters prefer American-made sugar over imported sugar. The survey was commissioned by the American Sugar Alliance.
