A new detection of potato wart has been found on Canada’s Prince Edward Island. Late last year, the Canadian Food Inspection Service announced its plans to modernize its efforts to prevent the spread of the disease, but action has not been taken. In October of last year, USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service said it is a question of ‘when,’ not ‘if’ potato wart from Prince Edward Island will spread to the United States.
