University of Minnesota Extension Soil Scientist Dr. Dan Kaiser has updated sugarbeet fertilizer guidelines for Minnesota farmers. While the N, P, and K recommendations have not changed, Kaiser says sulfur, boron and manganese recommendations have been added. “For boron, you need to watch so you don’t overdo it. I just wanted to give a little bit of guidance in those isolated circumstances.” Kaiser says the biggest impact will be for beet growers with lighter, sandier soils.
