Farmers have made their voices heard on PLC and ARC program preferences, and North Dakota State Farm Service Agency Executive Director Marcy Svenningsen says farmers don’t want to gamble on their insurance plan. “It would be nice to see it rolled into one, instead of making farmers choose one or the other.” Svenningsen says North Dakota does a good job preparing farmers for their crop insurance decisions, but the outcome is still not set in stone. “NDSU puts on workshops, but at the end of the day it is a gamble and prices could go up or down.”
