With much of the U.S. corn and soybean crop heading into grain fill, Northern Crops Marketing and Investments President Brad Paulson says demand will become the market driver. “Supplies will be determined in the next few weeks. Then, we’re going to look at the demand side of the equation. That’s been quite poor as of late,” says Paulson. “There’s five million tons of corn and soybeans that haven’t been shipped. China’s relationship with the United States hasn’t been too cozy lately. Most of those will be cancelled or rolled into the new crop year. China never did come close to buying what was required in President Trump’s trade agreement.”
