The U.S. Canola Association held their annual meeting virtually earlier this week. Northern Canola Growers Association Executive Director Barry Coleman says the renewable fuels prospects are a big push on Capitol Hill for canola. “We want to secure approval of a renewable fuel standard pathway for canola renewable diesel. We would also like to see a multi-year extension of biodiesel credit get implemented. Right now, it expires at the end of the year, and we’d like to see something that provides certainty for the biofuels industry.” Coleman says renewable diesel could be a game changer for canola. “We haven’t even talked about the sustainable aviation fuel. If we could tap into that market, the potential is just huge.”
