Thune Frustrated with EPA’s RFS Enforcement

South Dakota Senator John Thune is frustrated with how the Environmental Protection Agency is enforcing the Renewable Fuel Standard. “I just get an overall sense the administration is very lukewarm toward biofuels. I can’t explain that. I’ve tried twice to get meetings with the president and offered to bring 12 Senators down to talk about increasing the usage and biofuels we have in the liquid fuel mix. So far, it’s been crickets,” says Thune. “I think, especially right now with what’s happening with Ukraine and the shortage we have of liquid fuels in this country, you could offset a lot of that by going to E15.”
