Weather was one of the biggest challenges for farmers in 2021. Despite both extremely dry and wet conditions across the Corn Belt, Syngenta Seeds Head of Agronomy Andy Heggenstaller says higher-than-expected corn and soybean yields were common at harvest. “I can’t tell you how many situations we’ve come across within Golden Harvest where the farmer said they didn’t get rain in August, but grew 85 bushel soybeans.
