Demand continues to be a concern for grain traders. Van Ahn and Company market analyst Kristi Van Ahn says there are many headwinds in the marketplace. “This is the first week of December, so let’s coast through the rest of the year and see what we get for final production from USDA in the January crop report,” she says. “There’s a lot of risk-off happening around the market. Fundamentals have not changed at all, we’re still on tighter supplies, but we need to see private sales pick up and the actual shipping of grain.” Traders are watching exports to China closely. “China has cancelled contracts in the past and that will be a concern for the corn market as well. Corn needs to move at a more aggressive pace. Soybeans are moving fine.”
