North Dakota Farmers Union Government Relations Director Matt Perdue says the size and scope of that bill is becoming clear. “It’s taken a couple haircuts since the conversation started with a $1.14 billion bonding package. We’re now at a $680 million bonding package.” The bonding bill includes funding for the Ag Products Development Center at NDSU. It does not include money for township and county roads and bridges. Perdue said other revenue streams are being considered, including a gas tax increase. “The bottomline is farmers and ranchers need to have sound infrastructure, rural roads and rural bridges.”
