Northern Plains farmers have been waiting for more details of the Quality Loss Adjustment program for a long time and many still have questions. Roundtable participants asked the Farm Service Agency the specifics on what qualifies from feed durum to the high moisture, low test weight corn in storage. Part of qualifying for the QLA program means the crop has to be graded within 30 days from harvest. Northern Plains Potato Growers Association President Donavon Johnson explained to the FSA that doesn’t happen with potatoes. “We have to move that away and say that’s a nice idea, but it’s not possible.” Hear questions from the roundtable.
