Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley told reporters Democratic lawmakers in Congress from Midwestern states should have influence with President-elect Biden when it comes to biofuels policy. “I think we’re going into the new administration politically and judicially in a strong position, but I think we’re going to have the environmental groups working against us.” The EPA missed a key Renewable Volume Obligation deadline last Monday, a big deal for biofuels production in 2021. Grassley talked with EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler the same day. “I consider it a very positive conversation. We didn’t get into a lot of details, he didn’t say what he was going to do, but everything he said was music to my ears and to some extent a little unexpected.”
