Soybean harvest is running better than average for Wimbledon, North Dakota farmer Mike Clemens. “One reason why is we had great moisture in the summer, but we lost the last 10-to-15 percent off the top with the frost. That really shut the plants down. They were fairly green when the froze up in this area and there are smaller beans in those pods that could have been bigger. It’s a little disappointing.” Clemens says it was also a battle all summer to get in the prevent plant ground to manage weeds and get a cover crop planted.
