Precision technology is a vital component to most modern agricultural operations. Peterson Farms Seed precision agronomist Nolan Berg says it has become more reliable over the years. “When I first started working in precision agriculture, the drones were not super reliable. Now they’re rock solid,” says Berg. “A lot of farmers and agronomists use them to take pictures, and others are able to do more elaborate mapping.” The team at Peterson Farms Seed is taking that technology one step further, using high-end cameras to find plant health issues, along with drone stand counts. These features were highlighted at their annual field day. “We planted some corn about ten days ago and did the stand count demo. This is something that is new and upcoming.” Hear the story.
