Minnesota lawmakers are considering legislation to increase Minnesota’s biofuel standard to 15 percent ethanol. Minnesota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Adam Birr explains. “Certainly we’ve laid the groundwork with the infrastructure we’ve been building. E15 isn’t a new product. We’ve put the work down. There seems to be bipartisan support. Folks are looking for good news right now.” Birr says this is part of the discussion to reduce environmental footprint and it’s also a market for local growers.
