The focus for the North Dakota Beef Commission is on growing export markets for the state’s beef producers. Chairman and Manning rancher Weston Dvorak says the demand for U.S. beef remains strong. “We’ve now shifted from a supply-driven to demand-driven market system, which means it is a little more flat line,” says Dvorak. “The export market is definitely bringing extra value back to North Dakota beef producers.” At this year’s Cattle Industry Convention, producers are being encouraged to tell their beef story. Connecting with consumers is another priority for the Commission. “We’ve started a Facebook page and Instagram account to try and reach millennial consumer buyers, as well as producers.” Learn more about these efforts from ND Beef Commission director Travis Maddock in this Facebook Live video.
