In an interview with the Red River Farm Network, USDA Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Ag Affairs Ted McKinney says the U.S. and China are pushing forward in trade talks. “There’s been a lot of work. I think most notably, there are discussions between the lead U.S. and China trade negotiators. Behind that, there’s been lots of work as well,” says McKinney. “For the past three days, there have been digital video conferences to get specifics down. We’ll have to see what comes along for specifics. We’re hoping for more, but I think it will be positive for farmers.” McKinney addressed FFA members on Friday during the third session of the National FFA Convention.
