The latest USDA corn and soybean production numbers are within trade expectations. The 2018 corn production totals 14.4 billion bushels, down from 14.6 billion in December. The average U.S. corn yield of 176.4 bushels per acre was 2.5 bushels per acre less than December. U.S. soybean production totals 4.5 billion bushels, down from 4.6 billion bushels in the last report. Soybean yields averaged 51.6 bushels per acre, down a half bushel from the December estimate.
