After 34 years with the Northern Crops Institute, Assistant Director John Crabtree will retire at the end of this week. Crabtree has seen many changes at NCI over the years. One of the most significant changes was in how grain is merchandised internationally. “A lot of countries were still buying grain through their state buying agencies. When they started to let private industry take over, that was a boon for us at the Northern Crops Institute.”
