This week, the blue and gold jackets will gather on the North Dakota State University campus. North Dakota FFA members from across the state have been preparing for a variety of career and leadership development contests. North Dakota FFA State Reporter Alicia Hellman says, in total, there are 21 different contests to choose from. “There is food science, milk quality and technology, nursery landscape, floriculture and many many others. The leadership development events include prepared public speaking, extemporaneous public speaking and reciting the FFA creed.” Some FFA members have been working on these contests for as many as four years. Hellman says the skills gained will transfer to future careers.
RRFN’s coverage of the North Dakota State FFA Convention is sponsored by the North Dakota Soybean Growers Association, NDFB, Farm Credit Services of Mandan, Corteva Agriscience, AgCountry Farm Credit Services, Crop Production Services, North Dakota Farmers Union, Proseed and Bayer CropScience.
