The Minnesota legislative session is complete. Lawmakers passed a revamped tax law and a massive omnibus spending and policy bill. Minnesota Representative Dan Fabian says the buffer tax credit didn’t make it into a final tax bill. “There was some opposition to it from counties in terms of its administration. It sounds simple on the surface, but how will it actually be implemented on the local level? I think it’s an issue which will be around leading up to the next session.” Fabian says if Governor Dayton vetoes the bills, not too much will happen. “We have responded to Governor Dayton’s concerns about some of the things included in the bills and funding, but we feel very good about the bills we’re sending to Governor Dayton. Governor Dayton will also have to address our concerns. This is about compromise and working together.”
