President Trump announced Thursday there will be E15 available in the U.S. year-round. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum attended the White House meeting and shared this update with RRFN.
“While it doesn’t represent a signature yet, President Trump was certainly positive in statements he was making to the press. That was the direction he was wanting to go in. That was one of the positive things coming out of the meeting.”
Burgum says he walked away from the meeting feeling better about trade discussions, like the North American Free Trade Agreement.
“The president asked good questions, listened and got good feedback from people. We all walked away with a better understanding he and his team are negotiating and they’re negotiating hard. They’re working to create a level playing field for agriculture in the U.S.”
Burgum says President Trump asked feedback on farm bill priorities. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts told the group they’re a few weeks away from preliminary action.
